Description

'BREWERY STREET 1. 5169 (North Side) Physiotherapy Department of Royal Hospital SK 3871 SE 3/139 9.8.76. II 2. Late C19. Formerly Baptist Church. Red brick with stone dressings and slate roof. Tall 3 bay facade with convex centre bay with cornice and pediment above. Flanking side wings have cornice and blocking course. Paired stone corbels and moulded eaves cornice overall. Large round arched centre window with moulded arch and corbelled stone impost band. Window set in recess. Small blank arch below. Flanking bays each have blind panel with single storey entrance porches at base. Each porch has round arched door with plain fanlight on inner face and 1 round arched window with keystone and impost blocks. Brick pilasters, stone eaves cornice and blocking course. Side facade prominent above Infirmary Road has 3 tall windows each set in recessed panel. 5 windows below this and rear end outshut. Unusual ventilation system via C19 cast iron grilles set in outside base of pilasters. Listing NGR: SK3852971467.'
