'MANOR ROAD 1. 5169 (West Side) Brimington ----------- No 76 (The Manor House) SK 4073 10/78 II GV 2. C17 and C18. An L-shaped house of coursed stone rubble with quoins. Slate roof with coped gable ends and end chimneys. 2 storeys. 4 windows paired at outer ends, casements with stone millions and architraves. Stiring courses above 1st floor and ground floor windows, the latter carried up over centre door. Door has massive stone architrave with keystone. Rear wing, with similar features, contains 2 pairs of crucks, purlins with halved joints, rest on back of blades. Interior of house has some exposed ceiling beams with stops and chamfers, a stone fireplace and a C17 staircase with flat balusters and panelled piers. Vaulted cellars with well. Listing NGR: SK4057173075.'
