Description

'THE SHAMBLES 1. 5169 (North Side) ------------ Nos 12 and 13 SK 3871 SE 1/93 9.8.76. II GV 2. Late C18/early C19 facade with possible timber framed core. Southern facade red brick, English band brickwork. Built partly above arch which spans one of small unnamed Shambles' streets. Substantial timber lintel over arch and over recessed door to No 12. Lintel rests on curved stone corbel and upper storey jettied out. 3 storeys. 2 windows and additional centre 1st floor window, sashes with boxed frames and glazing bars. Western ground floor has remnants of C19 shop front with outer panelled pilasters and double consoles, freize and cornice now covered with hardboard. Shop door now blocked. Plank door to No 12. Rear facade rendered above lintel. 1 small window. Interior - upper floors largely inaccessible but exposed rear wall plate (including bressumer over arch). Listing NGR: SK3830871093.'
