Description

Late-C19. Gothic style. Stone; 4 storeys; 1st storey has an arcade of 6 pointed and cusped arched windows with columns having foliated capitals; 2+2+2 mullioned windows with arched heads to 3rd storey; 2nd storey has continuous balcony on figure head corbels and topped by iron brattishing; pilasters rise over 2nd and 3rd storeys; moulded eaves cornice surmounted by open balustrade. Modern office front. Attached to the rear of the building are the fragmentary remains of a much-altered Moot Hall, believed to have been built c.1610 to replace an earlier hall.
