Description

House and attached outbuildings. Early C19 with late C19 additions and alterations. Brick, stuccoed to front elevation, with shallow pitched hipped slate roof and rendered side wall stacks, plus plain eaves band below wide overhanging eaves. Two storeys plus garrets and three bays. Two storey, three bay outbuilding attached to rear. House has central semi-circular headed doorcase with reeded half columns and a reeded cornice. Original panelled door now has all panels glazed and above is the original traceried fanlight. To either side there are plain sashes and above there are three similar windows. Attached to rear of building are the old coach house and stables in brick with a hipped plain tile roof plus an octagonal timber dovecote to ridge. Coach house has a wide segmental arch with double plank doors to west and C20 double doors beyond. To east are the stables with two segment headed plank doors and a segment headed sliding sash window. Above there are two C20 windows in original openings. Interior of house has a fine stick baluster staircase with wreathed handrail through two floors and original reeded cornices and ceiling roses. Listing NGR: SK4414433039
