Description
School hall. 1911 by G H Widdows (Derbyshire County Council architect). Brown brick, pebbledashed over sill height, with stone and tile dressings. Steeply pitched plain tile roof with wide overhanging eaves and external gable brick stack to east. Both gables have short horizontal pieces to either side and tile dentillations. Single storey and three bays. West elevation has low porch to front with 5-light casement window above set in a blind segment headed recess with stone keyblock. To either side of the gable the kneeler-like projections have three vertical stone bands. North and south elevation have three 3-light casement windows with two transoms. The south elevation also has a segment headed doorcase with plank door to east. All fenestration is small pane casements. Built as part of a group with Highfield Infant and Junior School.
