Description

'SK 3448 SW 1/55 BRIDGE FOOT (west side) The Talbot Hotel GV II Built apparently at three different periods during the C18 and C19.1867 over door. L-shaped building standing at junction of three roads facing the main road river crossing. Coursed stone. Steeply pitched tiled roof and coped gable ends with kneelers. Western part oldest, has rear wing with external stone staircase. Street facade three storeys, three windows irregularly placed. Door with massive painted quoins and lintel. Eastern wing at right angles, two storeys and attic (but of same height as western section). Two windows, unbarred sashes painted surrounds and segmental arches. Modern glazed porch in angle. End facade to street has two ground floor windows and a small attic casement. Used as baiting place for coal higglers before railway era Listing NGR: SK3445848262.'
