'SK 34 SW PARISH OF KEDLESTON KEDLESTON PARK 3/50 The Hermitage II
Hermitage. 1761, possibly by Robert Adam. Red brick, coursed rubble sandstone and a crystalline white stone. Circular, about seven feet in diameter. The walls stand to about ten feet and the thatched roof has gone. Rough round-arched doorway to north, with massive sandstone blocks with a pitted finish. Side walls of random rubble white crystalline stone, with two square window openings. Rubble sandstone rear wall. The interior is lined in brick.
