Description
'SK 35 SE PARISH OF CRICH CHURCH STREET 4/9 29-12-82 Cottage and adjoining barn east of Church farmhouse (formerly listed as Cottage immediately east of Church Farmhouse) GV II
Cottage and attached barn. C17 with subsequent remodelling of the Cottage in C18 and C19. Single bay cottage of two storeys, with three bay barn to west without overlofts. Rubble gritstone with quoins, tiled roof to cottage and corrugated sheeting to barn roof. Cottage with 3-light flush mullioned window to first floor, with glazing bar casements and fixed lights. Former 3-light recessed chamfor mullioned window to ground floor, now with C20 casements, and to the east, a single light casement. Barn part with the remains of two cruck trusses, one a re-used timber with mortice and seating for massive arched brace to a truss of considerable span. Thought to be a possible long house derivative by earlier investigator with the doorway to the Cottage in the cross passage position.
