'SK 36 SE PARISH OF STRETTON ASHOVER ROAD 2/70 Three bridges at Smithymoor Nr Stretton Station II
Three contiguous bridges. c1840. Coursed squared rock-faced sandstone. Gritstone dressings. Central railway bridge with segmental arch of radiating ashlar voussoirs, slightly dropped keystone. Sloping embankments either side. Above, large roll moulded stringcourse. Plain parapets over with cambered copings. Polygonal piers to ends. Similar, lower, bridges to either side over Smithy Brook to east and Horsecar Brook to west. Built as part of North Midlands Railway.
