Description
'ASHOVER SK36SE KNOTCROSS ROAD 1264-0/8/62 (East side) Clattercotes Farmhouse II Farmhouse. C17, with alterations and extensions in C18 and C20. Coursed gritstone rubble with ashlar dressings, quoins, plain eaves, ridge, gable and side wall stacks with moulded caps, and a slate roof laid to diminishing courses. West elevation of 2 storeys and 5 bays, the south bay an addition. Northern bay with stacked and altered C17 5-light window, formerly mullioned, but with replacement 2-light C20 casements. Former doorway with quoins and massive lintel to south with C20 2-light casement. Central 3-bay range with quoined surround to middle bay doorway flanked by C18 two-light windows with flush surrounds, formerly with mullions, and now with C20 two-light casements. South of doorway, ground-floor window now a 3-light C20 replacement with flush surround and casements. Above the doorway a former single-light C18 opening now a 2-light casement. Quoin line at junction of fourth and fifth bays denotes former end wall, and aligns with present ridge stack. Fourth bay with stacked former 2-light flush-mullioned windows, now with 2-light timber casements. All windows with C20 diamond-leaded lights.
