'SK 35 NE PARISH OF SHIRLAND & HIGHAM BELPER ROAD 4/34 (East Side) 31-1-67 Yew Tree Farmhouse ('formerly listed as Yew Tree Farm, Hallfieldgate)

Farmhouse. Early C17 with later C17 alterations. Coursed, squared sandstone with gritstone dressings and quoins. Plain tile roofs with eaves courses in stone slates. Stone ridges. Moulded stone copings and kneelers to gables. Large central stone stack. Cross plan with front and rear bays, slightly lower. Two storeys plus attics and basement. Three bays. Advanced central bay with central, square sectioned, flush mullion and transom window. Moulded hood over. To south side of bay, chamfered quoined flush doorcase with shouldered lintel. C20 door. Beyond to south similar cross window. To north, two similar windows. Above, three similar windows, with further one above in central gable. Stone sundial immediately above. To north, under eaves, a blocked small single light flush opening. All fenestration C20 single pane casements. To rear various recessed and chamfered mullion windows.
