SK 24 60 PARISH OF WINSTER MAIN STREET 3/28 (North Side) 29.9.51 Winster Hall (formerly listed as Old Hall)

Small country house, now a public house. Early c18. Ashlar gritstone with rusticated quoins, eaves cornice, open balustraded parapet to street, solid to sides. Square in plan. South elevation: Three storeys, five bays, central bay defined by giant pilasters. Glazing bar sashes in projecting shouldered architraves and with keyblocks to heads. Central late C18 doorway with moulded pediment on Doric half columns and bulls-eye window to second floor of central bay. Interior much altered, but retaining good C18 turned baluster staircase.
