Description
'SK 21 76 PARISH OF EYAM CHURCH STREET 6/29 (North Side) Churchyard Tomb 7 metres S of Church Porch GV II
Table tomb. Mid cl7. Gritstone. Semi-circular headed niches to east and west ends, that to east with scull and crossbones in relief, that to west with winged angel head and hour glass, also in relief. To north and south sides, corner and central fluted pilasters, reeded to base. In panels between; to south side, thistle shaped vases with loop handles, each with different flowers; to north side two urns. Above, uninscribed slab with heavily moulded edge. Possibly the tomb of one of the plague victims of the Eyam plague of 1665 and 1666.
