Description

'BAKEWELL SK2168 BUXTON ROAD 831-1/4/59 (North East side) 07/01/91 Milford Court: Nos.1-7 (consecutive) (Formerly Listed as: BUXTON ROAD Nos.1 AND 3) GV II Houses formerly with shops, now 7 dwellings. Early C19, extensively renovated c1992. Coursed sandstone to front and right return; mixed limestone and sandstone rubble with some brick to rear; Welsh slate roof. EXTERIOR: 3 storeys, 6-window range to Buxton Road and 2-window range splayed right return to Mill Street. Plinth; chamfered quoins on right; first-floor band. Projecting stone sills and raised ashlar surrounds to various sash windows mostly of 8/8 to ground and first floors and 4/8 to second floor; bays 2 and 3 have 6/6 sashes beneath 3/6 sashes. Bays 1 and 2 refaced on ground floor with window to left of door. Bay 3 with window to infilled archway. Bay 4 window and bay 5 doorway are original: 6-panel door and overlight with glazing bars in stone architrave with cornice. Bay 6 refaced. Eaves band and cornice; ashlar end stacks and ridge stack; bays 5 and 6 with higher roof line. Rear: irregular elevation with brick stair turret and gabled 2-storey wing on right; blocked archway. INTERIOR: not inspected. Brick stair turret has stone spiral staircase. Listing NGR: SK2164768745.'
