Description

'BAKEWELL SK2168 NORTH CHURCH STREET 831-1/4/146 (South side) 20/05/74 Church of All Saints walls and entrances inc. attached railings at west end (Formerly Listed as: NORTH CHURCH STREET (South side) Churchyard Entrance and Wall) GV II Churchyard walls with entrances and attached railings. C19. Limestone rubble walling with gritstone copings; ashlar sandstone entrance piers; iron railings. Retaining wall runs from junction with Church Alley up to Chantry House (qv). Steps with side walls and central bollard at north-east entrance to churchyard. Paved approach from west end of North Church Street has iron railings on east side attached to freestanding section of wall with wooden gate near Chantry House. North-east entrance: rounded square-section piers linked by ramped side walls to each side of a flight of steps; at top is a tapered bollard with shaped head. Retaining wall lining North Church Street has former lamp bollard sited opposite The Limes (qv). Iron railings near Chantry House are set in ashlar plinth and have spiked bars and vase finials. Square piers to wooden gate with cross-braced openwork top. Listing NGR: SK2158868508.'
