SK2168 BUXTON ROAD 831-1/4/71 (North East side) The Old Kings
GV II
Former public house now store. Early-mid C19. Deeply-coursed sandstone with ashlar dressings; Welsh slate roof with concrete tiles to rear. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys, 2-window range, with wing to rear left. Large quoins; quoined carriage entrance on right with boarded doors and corbels to wooden lintel. C20 casement on left with projecting stone sill to painted ashlar surround. First floor: similar surrounds to 6/6 sashes. Ashlar stack with band to left end. Right return: upper 6/6 sash in similar surround to front elevation. Doorway from carriage passageway has channelled wooden architrave with corner blocks, C20 door; C20 casements to each side. Cellar drop with 8/8 sash over; various 2/2 and 6/6 sashes to rear. INTERIOR: not inspected.
