Description

House. Mid C18 (reputed to have been dated 1761). Coursed rubble; tiled roof. Brick end stacks. 2 storeys. 2-unit plan; it is possible that the right-hand room was originally a barn; the other room has a large end fireplace, contains the entrance passage with stairs to rear of this. Roughly regular 2-window range; windows with chamfered stone surrounds, the mullions now gone. One mullioned window survives to rear elevation. Interior: fireplace to left-hand room, corbelled with chamfered lintel (the chamfer hacked back in part); original joists but no ceiling beam. There is a change of level between the two rooms which are connected by a doorway with pegged surround.
