Description

House and attached barn, now incorporated into house. 1752 and C19 with C20 alterations and additions. Coursed squared gritstone with gritstone dressings and quoins. Steeply pitched slate roof with stone gable end stacks and stone coped gables with moulded kneelers, also coved eaves band. Two storeys, two bays with extension to east. Central flush doorcase with massive lintel and dripmould, also C20 plank door. To either side, 2-light flush mullion windows with C20 single pane casements and two similar windows above. Over door, central datestone with oval panel inscribed 'HAJ 1752'. To east gable wall C20 addition with C20 door, linking house to former gritstone rubble barn, now incorporated, into house with pointed doorcase and door to west and 4-light C20 flush mullion window to south gable wall. C18 bracketed stone fireplace to west room of original house. Listing NGR: SK2539263082
