BAKEWELL SK2168 SOUTH CHURCH STREET 831-1/4/167 (North side) 07/01/70 Cross situated 12m to south of porch of Church of All Saints (Formerly Listed as: SOUTH CHURCH STREET Ancient Cross in Churchyard of Church of All Saints) GV I Cross shaft. Early C10. Gritstone. Tapered rectangular shaft approximately 1.5m in height. Carved with interlace and ring motifs. Relocated here either from Birley Fields Farm, Two Dales; (near Matlock), or from Gladwin's Mark, 5km east of Beeley. Scheduled Ancient Monument, Derbyshire County number 77.
