Description

'SK 17 SE PARISH OF GREAT LONGSTONE MAIN STREET 3/16 (North Side) Churchlady House and attached garden wall and gate piers GV II House. Early C18 and 1768. Rubble limestone with gritstone dressings. Welsh slate roof and stone coped gables with moulded kneelers. Rendered ridge and gable end stacks. Two storeys, L-plan. South elevation of four bays. Earlier part to left with,to ground floor,a single light window, with chamfered surrounds, a 2-light chamfered mullion window and a doorway with chamfered stone surround. C20 door. Two 2-light chamfered mullion windows above. Right hand bay projects forward and has chamfered quoins and a first floor stringband. A 2-light window to ground and first floor with square section surround and mullions and outer bead moulding. In the gable a datestone with rounded top and recessed bead moulding, inscribed 'FW 1768'. Garden wall with moulded copings and gate piers, square in plan with moulded caps, to road. Listing NGR: SK1992071827.'
