Description

SK 27 SW PARISH OF ROWLAND BASLOW ROAD 4/67 (North Side) Rowdale House II House and barn, now one. Late C17, C18, early C19 and late C20. Rubble limestone with gritstone dressings. Welsh slate roof and stone coped gables with moulded kneelers. Stone gable end stack, stone ridge stack and a brick ridge stack. Two storeys. South elevation of five bays. Centre two bays are the earliest part and have a doorway with, massive jambs and lintel and a bracketed stone hood. C19 half glazed door. To the right a C19 glazing bar sash in stone surround. Two 2-light recessed and chamfered mullion windows above. Extended to the west in C18 with a 2-light square section flush mullion window to each, floor. To the east a doorway with chamfered quoins and lintel and C20 glazed double doors. Two bay barn to right converted into part of the house c1984 with traditional type of mullion windows.
