Description
School, now two cottages. 1841 by Paxton. Coursed squared gritstone with gritstone dressings and quoins. Stone slate roof, chamfered coped gables with plain kneelers and cross finials. Two ashlar stacks in the pitch of the roof. L-plan. Single storey. South elevation. Projecting gabled bay has projecting gabled porch with four-centred arched entrance and side windows, flanked by two similar windows. Return wall to east has a 2-light square section flush mullion window. Wing to the right has a central doorway with four-centred arch and half glazed door, flanked by 2-light square section flush mullion windows. Gritstone walls enclosing former playground, attached to south, with steep chamfered copings and gate piers with pyramid caps.
