'SK 16 NE PARISH OF MONYASH CHAPEL STREET 6/146 (West Side) Sheldon House 12.7.1967 II
House. 1774. Coursed limestone rubble with quoins. Limestone dressings. Continuous plain stringcourses to ground and first floor. Stone slate roof. Large gable end stone stacks with plain banding. Two bays, that to the south advanced. Three storeys. Central C20 traditional style porch in corner of two bays. To north, C20 3-light flush mullion window. Between this and porch the line of the former staircase to first floor door visible. To south, blocked doorcase and 3- light flush mullion window. Above, two similar windows. Blocked door above porch. To south, square plaque with moulded edges inscribed with circle and 'B 1774'.Above 2 further 3-light flush mullion windows. All mullions and fenestration C20. Formerly used as the Magpie Leadmine Pay Office.
