Description

'PARISH OF BEELEY CHATSWORTH ROAD SK 26 NE 5/32 (East Side) Beeley Lodge at south end of Chatsworth Park II Lodge at south end of Chatsworth Park. c1840, said to have been designed originally by Wyatville but executed by Paxton. Tudor style. Coursed squared gritstone with gritstone dressings. Plain and fishscale tile gabled and hipped roofs. Chamfered coped gable with moulded kneelers to south. Ashlar gable stack with twin octagonal shafts, and ashlar lateral stack. Bracketed eaves. Two storeys. West elevation of two bays. The ground floor has a square bay of 1-3-1 lights and a canted bay of 1-2-1 lights. Two 2-light recessed and chamfered mullion windows above, in half dormers, one with hipped roof, the other with hoodmould and gable. Gable end to south has shallow chimney breast and single light windows to the left. To the east a hipped roof two storey wing projects from the centre and has a 2-light chamfered mullion window to each floor. Flanked by single storey ranges which have doorways with shallow Tudor arches, and 1 and 2-light windows. Listing NGR: SK2628768459.'
