Description
Wheelhouse now redundant. 1833-4. Coursed squared gritstone with gritstone dressings. Hipped Welsh slate roof. Single storey rectangular structure with the goit entering at a higher level on the west side and leaving at a lower level on the east side into a roughly semi-circular pool. The west elevation has two segmental arches with a cutwater between. To the east are two segmental arches and five tall windows above with small pane fixed lights. The two wheels were removed during World War II. The wheelhouse was built as part of a modification ot Calver Mill, diverting the goit and removing the wheels from within the mill itself.
