Description
Former laundry to Bagshaw Hall (qv) now house. c1685, altered. Coursed, dressed sandstone; stone slate roof. EXTERIOR: single storey and attic, 3-window range. Symmetrical facade. Chamfered plinth, large quoins. Central doorway has chamfered quoins and deep lintel; C20 double doors with overlight. Renewed 2-light windows to each side have square-faced surrounds and 8-pane casements. Central gabled dormer with 4-pane casements in mullioned 2-light window. Shaped kneelers and chamfered gable copings to dormer and end gables. Left return: inserted central window flanked by remnants of original double-chamfered windows. INTERIOR: not inspected, but known to contain chamfered spine beam and common joists in entrance hall.
