Description

'SK 38/3925 PARISH OF MELBOURNE POTTER STREET 6/162 (South Side) Nos 26 and 28 GV II Pair of houses, with shop to ground floor of one. Late C18, altered in late C19. Red brick with brick plinth to facade, stone rubble elsewhere, and gauged brick dressings. Plain tile roof with brick gable stack to east, plus stepped and dentilled eaves band. Three storeys, each house single bay. No 26 to east has steps up to a plain doorcase with original raised and fielded six panelled door below rusticated wedge lintel with raised keystone. To east is a segment headed 3-light horizontal sliding glazing bar sash and above is a similar window with similar flat headed window above again. No 28 to west has a late C19 shop front with large small paned window to west and glazed door with divided overlight to east, both under a continuous moulded cornice. Beyond to east is a small inserted C20 window. Above to west is a segment headed 3-light horizontal sliding plain sash and on same level to centre of the building is blind segment headed recess. Above again, to west is a flat headed 3-light horizontal sliding glazing bar sash. Listing NGR: SK3875025192.'
