Description
'PARISH OF HARTSHORNE ASHY ROAD SK 31 NW 6/33 (North Side) 9-7-75 Toll House II Toll cottage, now house. Early C19. Painted brick, hipped plain tile roof, brick ridge stack. Two storeys. Canted end to main road has a doorway to the right with chamfered surround and plank door. To the left are two 2-light casements in chamfered surrounds. Two similar windows above flanking a larger blind recessed panel for the toll board. Two bay east elevation has four similar windows. Canted north end now enveloped by a single storey addition not of special interest which continues around the west side.
