Description
'PARISH OF HARTSHORNE MANCHESTER LANE SK 32 SW 3/39 (West Side) Nos 4-6 II Pair of cottages. Probably C18 and early C19. Remains of timber framing, red brick and plain tile roof with brick ridge and gable stacks. Stepped plinth, dentil eaves cornice. Two storeys. East elevation of four bays. Two steps up to off-centre doorway with raised and fielded panelled door with blocked overlight and bracketed hood. To the right are two 3-light segment headed casement windows. One similar to left and three similar but smaller windows above. Lower bay to the left has a doorway with a plank door, set within a blind round arch. Small 2-light square window to left. Small 2-light window above. South gable end has exposed box frame partition probably relating to a demolished building to the south. Interior not inspected.
