Short Hazels Farmhouse
II
Farmhouse. C17 and early C19. Coursed squared sandstone and red brick. Plain tile roof with brick gable stacks and a moulded stone coped gable with plain kneelers to south. Two storeys. T-plan. Chamfered plinth to south wing. South wing is C17, of large blocks of sandstone. The gable end elevation has a doorway with chamfered surround, massive jambs and lintel. One single light window above with stepped and chamfered surround. Return elevation to left has a C17 blocked 3-light recessed and chamfered mullion window. To the left a C20 doorway and to the right a large segment headed 3-light casement with brick arch. Three four-centred arched windows above, the outer ones blocked and the inner one partly blocked and with a C20 casement. Similar four-centred arched windows to the rear. Early C19 brick range forms the head of the T. This has segment headed windows.
