Description

Public house. C18 and early C19 with C20 additions and alterations. Red brick with painted stone dressings and rendered plinth. Roof of large Welsh slates with external brick gable stacks topped by stone cornices, plus dentilled eaves band. Two storeys and three bays with lower addition to west. Double range plan, front range early C19 and rear range C18. Main elevation has an C18 moulded doorcase with recessed plain frieze and moulded cornice, plus C20 panelled door and plain overlight. To either side there are large flat roofed canted bay windows with small pane C20 casements. Above there are two glazing bar C20 casements below rusticated wedge lintels with raised keystones, and a central narrower glazing bar sash below large plain lintel with moulded cornice to top. Lower addition to west has rendered lean-to to ground floor and C20 3-light casement above. Rear elevation has segment headed casement windows. Included for group value only.
