'SK 13 SE PARISH OF FOSTON & SCROPTON SCROPTON LANE 2/22 (South Side) Lychgate and churchyard walls to Church of St Paul GV II
Lychgate and walls. 1855-6 by Benjamin Ferrey and lychgate possibly later. Coursed squared sandstone and ashlar. Lychgate has timber superstructure and plain tile overhanging roof with central ridge cross finial. Walls of lychgate to half height, surmounted by an open-work timber structure outwardly braced. The walls which completely enclosed the churchyard have steeply chamfered copings. Gate piers at east end with steeply chamfered caps. Listed for group value only.
