Description

'SK 32 NE PARISH OF MELBOURNE MAIN STREET, KINGS 3/120 NEWTON 10.11.67 (South Side) Broadways GV II Three cottages, now one. C17 and C18 with C20 alterations. Six panels of box timber framing on stone plinth with brick nogging to front elevation, painted brick and rubble stone elsewhere. C20 red clay tile roof with brick gable stack to west and brick ridge stack to rear pitch of roof. Single storey plus attics and three bays. Main elevation has a brick bay to east with two timber framed bays to west, each made up of three panels of timber framing with corner braces to outer panels of each bay. Eastern bay has a segment headed panelled door with open timber work porch to west and a large fixed small paned window with shutters to east. To west there is one 2-light fixed small paned window below a timber hood. Above there are three C20 gabled half dormers, each with 2-light casement windows, that to centre bowed. East gable wall has the outline of an earlier stone rubble cottage to rear. West gable wall and rear wall all C20. Listing NGR: SK3871426159.'
