SK 18 SW PARISH OF PEAK FOREST PERRY DALE 1/4 Nether Barn II
Field barn. Dated 1781. Coursed rubble limestone with gritstone dressings, throughstones, stone slates and concrete tiles. South west elevation: Two storeys, five bays with projecting offshut to north west end bay. Tall central doorway with quoined surround beneath a massive lintel. Four other doorways, three to the right of the central door, one with a segmental arch to head. Doorway to offshut with chamfered quoined surround and heavy lintel. Plain planked doors to openings. Single taking-in door to first floor, and ventilation slits to offshut. Blocked doorway to north east elevation, with quoined surround and crude semi-circular headed lintel, inscribed '1781'. Double purlin roof, supported by king post trusses.
