SK 18 SW PARISH OF EDALE BARBER BOOTH 6/46 (South Side) Barn opposite Methodist Chapel GV II
Barn. Late C16 and later. Coursed squared gritstone with gritstone dressings. Stone slate roof. Single storey, three bays. Western two bays are late C16 with massive quoins. Doorway on the right with chamfered surround and cambered head and massive lintel and quoins. Now blocked. Doorway to the left also with chamfered surround, massice lintel and quoins. C19 plank door with lancet shaped ventilation slots. Square opening to the left with massive quoins. Interior with one cruck truss partly embedded in stone wall and possibly not complete. Early C19 extension to east with ball finial on the gable end.
