Description

'BUXTON SK0573SE TERRACE ROAD 616-1/4/73 (East side) No.9 II House, now offices. Late C18, remodelled c1870, converted late C20. Rubble and dressed millstone grit with ashlar dressings and shallow pitched Welsh slate roof with coped gables and kneelers plus gable stacks with moulded caps. PLAN: L-plan. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys and attic. Street front has plinth, raised vermiculated quoins, vermiculated first-floor band and dentillated eaves. Central doorway has panel door with overlight in moulded ashlar surround with hood supported on brackets. Either side a single canted bay window with 2/2 and plain sashes. Above 3 2/2 sashes in moulded ashlar surrounds with flat hoods supported on brackets and projecting sills supported on brackets. Above again a single central segment headed dormer window with 3/3 sash. Left return irregular 2-window range has a 2-storey canted wooden bay window with to right a 4-pane window and above a 6/6 sash. Above in attic two 6/6 sashes. Set back to left is a late C18 wing with irregular fenestration. Right return has 2-window range refenestrated C20. INTERIOR: not inspected. Listing NGR: SK0593373459.'
