SK07SE ST PETER'S ROAD, Fairfield 616-1/2/98 (North East side) 15/05/72 Nos.5-11 (Odd)

Row of 4 cottages. Mid C18, altered mid C20. Coursed rubble, whitewashed to front, with ashlar dressings. Synthetic roof tiles, Welsh slate to rear wing, and 5 stone ridge stacks with water tabling. EXTERIOR: 2 storey. Quoins. Regular 8-window front with four C20 doors under canopy porches alternate with 4 window openings, those at Nos 6 and 8 were originally of 3-lights; most are in squared surrounds and all have 2-light casement windows with leaded glazing. Above 8 similar 2-light casements, mostly with plain ashlar surrounds. Left return: has single window to each level and door to rear. Rear elevation: has right angled wing with stack, also single storey lean-to. 1st floor: single light window in dressed stone surround and one C20 inserted opening. INTERIOR: No.5 has beams and joists to principal room. The roof purlins are reputed to be roughly shaped. Ground floor only inspected.
