Description
Pair of cottages, now cottage and shop. C17 and later. Rubblestone with gritstone dressings and quoins. Stone slate roof with stone ridge stack and stone stack in the pitch of the roof. Two storeys. North elevation of five bays. House on the right with central doorway with recessed stone surround and C20 door. Flanked on each side by C20 casement windows set in flush stone surrounds. Two similar windows above. A further similar, but smaller window to the left on ground floor. Shop with central doorway with stone lintel and jambs and C20 door. Flanked on each side by C20 canted bay windows. Two windows above with square section flush stone surrounds. Inside is one complete cruck truss of massive timbers and the remains of a second truss. Attached garden wall to cottage, the left hand part surmounted by iron railings.
