Description

SK 18 SE PARISH OF BROUGH AND SHATTON TOWNFIELD LANE 7/17 (South Side) Shatton Hall Farmhouse II Farmhouse. Mid-C16 and later. Rubble gritstone, part cement rendered, with gritstone dressings. Stone slate roofs with stone gable end stack and two ridge stacks. Angle quoins. Two storeys, T-plan. East wing is earliest part. South elevation - projecting cross wing on the left with 2-light window to the ground floor with moulded surround. 2-light recessed and chamfered mullion window above. To the right, a stone doorcase with pediment dying into the return wall of the cross wing on the left. Doorway with stone lintel with cambered arch and C17 plank door. To the right a 5-light ovolo moulded mullion window with depressed arched lights with diamond leading. 3-light recessed and chamfered mullion window above with pointed lights and a 1-light recessed and chamfered mullion window to the right. West elevation with a 3-light square section flush mullion window, flanked on each side by doorways with stone surrounds, one now partly blocked. 3-light recessed and chamfered mullion window above with a single light window to the left. Irregular north elevation with a single light, recessed and chamfered window with pointed head, a 3-light recessed and chamfered mullion window and three glazing bar sashes.
