Full Description

A post mill was recorded in a field named Mill Close by the surveyor appointed by the Tithe Commissioners in 1841. The mill had already been there for some years since it is listed in Glover's directory of the county in 1829. It is not known when it was removed from the site. No other records for this mill have been found and nothing remains on the ground. (1) It is named on the 1st ed. 25" OS map of c. 1880 as 'Windmill (Flour)', but appears to have been removed by the end of the century, as it is not shown on the 2nd edition. (2, 3)
