In November 2004 the owner of the site, the Presentation Convent, agreed to lease it to Matlock Town Council for a period of 50 years in order to allow the civic association and town council to restore the area. As the site has become increasingly overgrown, the plan is to clear vegetation, trees and shrubs and to repair the boundaries. (2)
