Full Description

Headquarters of the Hayfield Cooperative Society. Two/three storey building of coursed sandstone, with stone string course, ashlar eaves cornice and hipped roof. Central arched doorway, shops on either side. There is a carved stone panel above the central doorway showing a ship at sail. There is also a datestone 'Co-operative Stores AD 1871'. In 1981 the building was vacant and due for conversion. (1)
