Milepost, The Common, South Normanton, an early 19th century structure.
'Milepost with triangular section.' (1)
'Milepost, Listed Grade II. Early 19th century cast iron milepost. On the west side 'Mansfield 7 miles'; on the east side 'Alfreton 2 miles'. Top marked 'South Normanton'.' (2)
'Milepost on the south side of the Alfreton and Mansfield turnpike road. It was manufactured by Midworth of Mansfield, presumably in 1828 as 'MIDWORTH/MANSFIELD 1828 is written on the base.' (3)

Milepost. Early C19. Cast iron. Triangular sectioned base with sloping head, bead fillet to edge and raised lettering. West side inscribed 'MANSFIELD 7 MILES',east side inscribed 'ALFRETON 2 MILES'end top inscribed 'SOUTH NORMANTON'.
