Full Description

SK 2932 4249. An early 19th century, cast iron milepost to the south east of Weston Underwood village. The inscription reads - 'London 132, Derby 6'. (1) A listed Grade II cast iron mile post that is triangular in plan with a sloping upper part and back plate with a gabled top. Inscribed '132 / LONDON / HULLAND / WARD /3 / MILES / DERBY /6 / MILES'. (2) The milepost was manufactured by J Heywood, Phoenix Foundry, Derby. In February 2002 it was recorded as being 18 inches wide, 8 inches deep and 32 inches visible height. (3)
