Full Description

Flint material collected during fieldwalking in the field centred on SK 49897254 included 16 flakes, of which 3 are retouched, and 7 fragments of miscellaneous flint waste. The fieldwalking was carried out in early February 1985. This field is included on a distribution map of fields yielding tools and debitage of Neolithic date as well as of possible Mesolithic date. Additional material collected included six body sherds and one spout fragment of late medieval date, 18 post-medieval sherds and 33 modern sherds, ten fragments of glass, three fragments of glass slag, two fragments of metal slag and thirteen clay pipe stems.
