Full Description

Drum-headed stick type mile post by Harrison of Derby - 'Derby 3 miles, Nottingham 13 miles'. (1) This cast-iron milepost stands on the north side of the Derby/Nottingham road. Lettering on the drum shows 'DERBY / 3 / MILES' and 'NOTTM. / 13 / MILES'. 'HARRISON DERBY' is written vertically on the post. (2) Circular section cast iron milepost, early 19th century. Manufactured by Derby firm Harrison. (3)
