Full Description

The awkwardly constrained north-lit polishing shop, with its Gothic gable windows, probably dates from the 1880s. (1) The mill closed in the late 1960s but still flourishes after a fashion, split up into smaller industrial units. (2) The Polishing Shed, Ellison's Metal Products. Single-storey brick-built range with slate roofs and north light, dating from 1881-1899. A polishing shed was where cotton was waxed. Now in use for heavy engineering. (3)
