Full Description

A final piece of parkland was preserved by the building of Highfields for Henry Evans, a younger son, in the 1880s. This later became St Philomena's Convent, which preserved the house and mature wooded park. Unfortunately the Nuns have recently (1995) sold this to a developer who plans to build extensively in the parkland. (1) Parkland associated with Highfields (SMR32304)
