Full Description

Late 19th century maps show rock outcrops at this site. (1, 2) Third edition (early 20th century) marks it as 'Old Quarry'. (3) It is not known whether this means that the site was only quarried for a short period after 1901 or whether it was a much older quarry that was not recorded by the first OS surveyors. A large boulder within the quarry has a face carved into it. (4)
